(ORAL ) Learned counsel for the petitioners by referring to para 15 of the petition has submitted that petitioner No.1 is legally divorced from her first husband and in this regard a judgment and decree has also been passed by the learned Additional District Judge, Fatehabad, on 2.8.2019 in HMA Case No.38 of 2019 and thereafter, she has performed her second marriage with petitioner No.2 who is neither married nor divorced and it is first marriage of petitioner no.2 with petitioner No.1. He submitted that apprehending threat to their life and liberty at the hands of private RAJ KUMAR ARORA 2021.12.15 17:10 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-11761-2021 (O&M) respondent Nos.5 and 6, they have filed the present petition for protection. He further submitted that the petitioners have submitted a representation (Annexure P-5) dated 9.12.2021, in this regard to the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sangrur with a copy to SHO, Police Station, Moonak, District Sangrur and SHO, Police Station, Bareta, District Mansa. Heard. Record perused.

Notice of motion to the office of Advocate General, Punjab.

Mr.Arun Kumar Kaundal, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Copy stands supplied. The petitioners have placed on record the copies of Aadhaar Cards (Annexures P-1 and P-2) as proof of their age and certificate (Annexure P-3) and photographs (Annexure P-4) regarding performance of marriage.

This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent to respondent No.2 - the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sangrur, that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be got looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding validity of marriage of the parties. December 15, 2021.
