The present petition has been filed inter alia praying for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, in fact, the petitioner and respondent No. 6 are co-accused in the same FIR and during their stay in the jail, they had altercations multiple times due to which respondent No. 6 was transferred to District Jail, Hoshiarpur. 3.

Subsequently, the petitioner as well as respondent No. 6 has been granted bail and thereafter, respondent No. 6 is threatening the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that ends of justice would be met and he would be satisfied if his representation dated 02.09.2023 (Annexures P-4 & P-5) is looked into by the respondentsAuthorities. PARUL 2023.10.09 10:30 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

Per contra, learned State counsel has vehemently opposed the present petition and has submitted that, in fact, the petitioner is also a hard core criminal and serious cases are going on against him and moreso, the representation dated 02.09.2023 (Annexures P-4 & P-5) had never been received by the authorities.

Heard learned counsel for the parties at length. 7.

The ends of justice would be met by directing the respondentsAuthorities to look into the representations (Annexures P-4 & P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, if so required. If the respondents-Authorities have not received any representations, same be taken from this petition.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case. 9.

However, it is made clear that filing of this petition or any order passed herein is only for the purpose of considering the threat perception and shall not be taken as an alibi, or a ground or defence by the petitioner or any other party in any other proceedings.
