1. The petitioner seeks grant of anticipatory bail in respect of the aforementioned FIR.

2. At the time of issuance of notice of motion, the following order was passed on 06.09.2024:

"The petitioner seeks grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered against him vide FIR No. 125, dated 01.08.2024, Police Station Lambi, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, under Sections 15(c), 25, 29, 61, 85 of NDPS Act.

As per the case of prosecution one Jagpreet Singh was apprehended by the police who was found in possession of 70 Kgs of 'Poppy Husk'. It is further the case of prosecution that upon interrogation he stated that he along with Raghbir Singh and Karampal Singh (petitioner) had brought the 'Poppy Husk'

from Rajasthan and that Raghbir Singh and Karampal had given him their vehicle for getting 'Poppy Husk'. He further stated that Raghbir Singh and Karampal Singh were moving ahead of him in their Ritz car.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he is nowhere named in the FIR and came to be nominated as an accused after about one week of the alleged recovery on the basis of disclosure statement allegedly made by Jagpreet Singh the admissibility and veracity of which would be debatable.

Notice of motion for 18.11.2024.

Meanwhile, in the event of arrest, the petitioner be released on interim bail subject to his furnishing personal bonds and surety bonds to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer. However, the petitioner shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Arresting/Investigating Officer and shall abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C. State to file a detailed reply on or before the next date of hearing. 2
