Mr. Imran Farooqi, Advocate, for the petitioner. ASHOK KUMAR VERMA, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. prayer has been made for issuance of directions to the trial Court, Malerkotla, to expedite the proceedings in case titled "Ajay Jain v. Raj Kumar" bearing NACT No.700/2017 pending before the Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Malerkotla, and conclude the same in a time-bound manner. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that that petitioner filed a complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 against the respondent as he failed to make payment of cheque amount of `3,00,000/- to the petitioner, wherein the respondent was summoned by the trial Court vide order dated 15.11.2017. On 03.05.2018 petitioner closed his evidence and statement of respondent-accused was recorded on 17.05.2018 and case was adjourned to 12.07.2018 for defence evidence. Since then case is being adjourned for the same purpose.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is being disposed of with a direction to the trial Court to conclude the trial preferably within a period of three months.
