1. The petitioner No.1 attained the age of 58 years on 30.06.2019. He was granted extension up to 30.06.2020 whereafter he was relieved from the services. Petitioner No.2 sought premature retirement and was relieved from services on 31.01.2023.

2. After the petitioners have retired, they have preferred this writ petition challenging the promotions granted to their juniors, and pray that they should be given promotion from the date their juniors have been promoted.

3. It is an admitted position that the juniors of the petitioners have been promoted on 04.06.2023, after the petitioners had retired.

4. In view thereof, no case for claim of the petitioners for promotion after retirement is made out. After retirement of a person, the next person in service cannot be said to be junior to the said retired person, and as and MOHIT GOYAL 2023.10.19 09:55 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-21236-2023 (O&M) 2023:PHHC:135680 when the next person in service is promoted, the retired person cannot claim his promotion from the said date.

5. Writ Petition is wholly frivolous and misconceived and is accordingly dismissed.
