The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure with a prayer to grant him interim bail on account of his own marriage which is scheduled to be held on 15.09.2024 and 16.09.2024 in case FIR No.17 dated 05.02.2022 (Annexure P-1) under Sections 22/29/61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 registered at Police Station Kulgarhi, District Ferozepur, Punjab. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has been falsely involved in the present case and he is in custody since 05.02.2022. He further contends that the marriage of the petitioner is fixed on 16.09.2024 and the marriage ceremonies are scheduled to be held at MK Palace, Moga Road, Satiye Wala, Ferozepur.

Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Ved Prakash submits that the marriage of the petitioner is scheduled to be held on 16.09.2024 with Amandeep Kaur and the local police has verified the said fact in this regard.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties, this Court is of the considered opinion that the present petition deserves to be allowed by this Court. The petitioner is ordered to be released on interim bail with effect from 13.09.2024 subject to his furnishing necessary surety bonds/bail bonds to the satisfaction of the concerned Trial Court/Duty Magistrate/CJM. The petitioner is directed to surrender before the Trial Court/jail authorities at 05:00 PM on 27.09.2024.

It is made clear that no further extension of time shall be granted under any circumstances.

The petition stands disposed off.
