*** ANIL KSHETARPAL, J (Oral) The hearing of the case is being held through video conferencing on account of restricted functioning of the Courts. By this order, CWP No.25636 and 25640 of 2021 shall stand disposed of.

On 16.12.2021, the following order was passed:- "The petitioner complains that after grant of route permit for running a bus under the State Carriage Scheme, the concerned authority has failed to issue a time table specifying the schedule, on which the bus is to operate. The petitioner claims that he could not operate the bus for the last one month as the concerned authority in spite of the representation failed to issue a time table.

Sh. Navdeep Chhabra, learned counsel representing the State of Punjab, has stated that the concerned authority requires three more days to consider the matter. It is unfortunate that the officials who are posted on ASHOK KUMAR 2021.12.21 10:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-25636-2021 (O&M) and connected case such important and significant posts have failed to perform their duty, as expected. Hence, the Transport Commissioner, Punjab, is requested to appear in Court through video conferencing and explain the reasons for not taking appropriate steps at the relevant time.

Adjourned to 17.12.2021.

A photocopy of this order be placed on the file of the other connected case."

In deference to the order, Sh. Siva Prasad, Principal Secretary, Department of Transport, Punjab, is present in the Court and has assured that in future the time table relating to the operation of the buses shall be issued in advance i.e. before expiry of the validity of the previous time table. He further assures that the transporters will not be compelled to come to the Court for the inaction on the part of the officials of the department. Learned State counsel, on instructions from Sh. Balwinder Singh, Secretary, RTA, Bathinda, has stated that a provisional time table has been issued which is valid upto 31.01.2022 and the regular time table shall be issued positively before 31.01.2022.

Disposed of.

All the pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, are also disposed of.
