CWP-26105-2021 The only prayer made by the petitioners is for a direction to respondents No. 2 to 5 to decide their representations dated 03.06.2021 (Annexure P-7) and 24.09.2021 (Annexure P-11) in view of the letters issued by them against respondent No. 6 as well as the guidelines relating to setting up of an industry.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that because of inaction on the part of the respondent-authorities, the residents of the residential colony are suffering on account of the respondent No. 6 continuing with industrial activities which is causing heavy pollution. Mr. Avinit Avasthi, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, on advance copy, submits that the petitioners' representations pending before respondent No. 2 i.e. Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar, District Rupnagar shall be considered and decided at the earliest and in accordance with law, preferably within four weeks and, if so required, the petitioners and others AMODH SHARMA 2022.02.09 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document would also be heard in the matter.

CWP-26105-2021 (O&M) In view of the aforesaid statement made by learned State counsel, we do not find any reason to entertain the present petition which is accordingly disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and, therefore, the authorities would be at liberty to examine the matter keeping all facts and facets into consideration and thereafter decide the same in accordance with law.
