The instant petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents No.2 and 3 to reissue the Arms License bearing No.DM/TRN/DUP/BKHW/1217/658 in the name of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had been issued an arms license in the year 2017, which was valid upto 28.9.2019 and the same was subsequently renewed upto 28.8.2022. It has been submitted that, thereafter the petitioner again applied for renewal of the same, but no action has been taken thereupon till date. It has further been submitted that although the petitioner submitted a representation dated 31.5.2023 (Annexure P-2) in this regard before the Deputy Commissioner, District Taran Tarn, but no action has been taken thereupon.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - District Magistrate, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, to consider and dispose of the representation dated 31.5.2023 (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law expeditiously.
