Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 was married with Bhagwant Singh, who has been arrested by the police in a fraud case and presently, he is in custody. Petitioner No.1 has taken customary divorce from her husband Bhagwant Singh and is now living at village Nurpur Channo. The police is calling her and three minor children to different police stations resulting in their harassment. A representation to this effect was made to Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala on 19.08.2019 but no action has been taken on it. Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to look into the grievance of petitioners as put forth by their counsel and take appropriate action in accordance with law. However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to petitioners from any action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against them in accordance with law.
