The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 27.01.2025 passed by the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court in CWP-1775-2024. 2.

The Co-ordinate Bench of this Court had issued the following directions, vide its order dated 27.01.2025, in CWP-1775-2024:- "2. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that pursuant to a direction passed by this Court in CWP15302-2021, which was disposed of on 09.09.2021, Annexure P-13, to consider and decide the legal notice, the department vide order dated 04.09.2024, Annexure P14, has granted the relief to similarly situated candidates as regards notional pay fixation from the date of joining of junior employees. He thus, on instructions, states that they shall file a detailed representation referencing the aforesaid and pending therewith the relevant orders, which may be directed to be decided in a time bound VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2025.08.29 18:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

COCP-3764-2025 (O&M) -2manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection. 3.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioners submit a representation within a period of 4 weeks, the same shall be decided within four months by the respondents." 3.

Learned counsel for the respondents contends that in compliance of the order dated 27.01.2025, speaking order dated 16.08.2025 has been passed by Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, Director School Education (Secondary), Punjab. The same is taken on record and a copy thereof has been supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioner, who does not dispute the same.

In view of the above, the contempt is purged and rule stands discharged. Needless to say that petitioners can avail any other remedy as is available to them in accordance with law to challenge the speaking order dated 16.08.2025 passed by Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, Director School Education (Secondary), Punjab.
