(ORAL) When these appeals came up on 05.07.2018, learned counsel for the appellant confined the scope of these appeals only for grant of some time for making payment of interest on the delayed payment of post-retiral benefits directed to be paid by the learned Single Judge. Accordingly, we required a responsible officer of the University to file an affidavit indicating the number of employees to whom the payment is to be made and also the detailed calculation of the payment due. In compliance of the aforesaid order, an affidavit of the Registrar of the appellant-University, dated 11.07.2018, has been brought on record wherein it has been stated that the University undertakes to pay Prashant Kapoor 2018.07.20 17:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

LPA-1009-2018 (O&M) & connected matters the amount due in the writ petitions mentioned at Sr. Nos. 1 and 2 of the table annexed to the affidavit (Annexure 'A') on or before 17.07.2018 and to rest of the petitioners of writ petitions mentioned at Sr. Nos. 3 to 8 on or before 25.07.2018.

In view of the aforesaid affidavit filed by the Registrar of the University, all these appeals may not be carried any further and can be disposed of at this stage itself. Accordingly, these appeals are disposed of subject to the condition that in case the payment is not made as undertaken before us in the affidavit, this order lose its efficacy and the appeals shall be deemed to have been dismissed. The right of the private respondents to challenge, in case they are aggrieved with determination of the payment to be made to them by the appellant-University, is being kept reserved.
