This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Section 438 Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.148 dated 30.08.2019 under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, registered at Police Station Bhogpur, District Jalandhar. The petitioner apprehended his arrest at the hands of Police. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has been implicated in this case, who was not arrested at the time of raid conducted by four police officials. He submits that the petitioner is ready to join the investigation.
During the course of hearing, it is not disputed by learned counsel for the petitioner that the alleged raid was conducted at the residence of the petitioner wherefrom the alleged illicit liquor was Sheetal Gawri 2019.10.23 10:52 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
CRM-M-42235-2019 (O & M) -2recovered; besides, the other set up was also found including 200 litres of Lahan.
Considering the above, this Court does not find any reason to extend the extra ordinary concession of anticipatory bail. The petition is dismissed.
