Instant application has been filed praying for issuance of directions to the respondents to make active efforts to apprehend the accused in CRM-M-44774-2024.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the applicant/petitioner that applicant is an NRI and after registration of the FIR, there is no progress in the investigation. She further submits that co-accused are giving threats on phone to the complainant. 3.
Notice of the application to the respondents/State. 4.
On asking of the Court, Mr.Tarun Aggarwal, Sr.DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State. He has also drawn attention of the Court to the status report, dated MEENU 2025.01.23 09:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document 11.11.2024, filed by way of an affidavit of Deep Kamal, PPS,
CRM-1604-2025 in/and CRM-M-44774-2024 -2Superintendent of Police, NRI Wing, District SAS Nagar, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 5 and submits, on instructions from ASI Gursewak Ram, that investigation in this case would be completed expeditiously. 5.
After hearing learned counsel for the parties and in view of the facts mentioned in the application, the same is allowed. Main case is taken up on Board today itself by preponing the date of hearing. CRM-M-44774-2024 6.
Present petition has been filed praying for issuance of direction that investigation of FIR No.16, dated 31.05.2023, under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station NRI SAS Nagar, Punjab, be transferred to any District in Haryana or in Chandigarh, outside the jurisdiction of the State of Punjab and to be conducted by a Senior Government Official.

In view of the statement made by learned State counsel in CRM-1604-2025, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Investigating Agency to take into consideration the contention raised by the petitioner regarding extending threat to him and conclude the investigation expeditiously preferably within three months from today. 8.
Petitioner is also directed to cooperate with the Investigating Agency in expediting the matter.
