**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J.(Oral) In pursuance of order dated 21.12.2021 passed by this Court, the Permanent Medical Board of the PGIMER, Chandigarh has examined the petitioner and sent its report in a sealed cover. The report has been opened and the same is marked as Mark A-1. The report of the Medical Board be tagged at an appropriate place with the writ petition. The Permanent Medical Board of PGIMER, Chandigarh has made the following observations:-

The petitioner is a 22 yrs old primigravida. As per the ultrasound done on 22/12/2021, the period of gestation is 32 weeks+4 days with single live intrauterine pregnancy weighing 1926+285 gms with mild cardiomegaly with mild right ventricular hypertrophy and minimal pericardial effusion with dilated right atrium. The petitioner is advised fetal echo (test to check the fetal heart of the developing baby) for further evaluation. 2.

The detailed psychiatric evaluation done is suggestive of psychological distress due to her current situation. Although, currently she does not have any diagnosable psychiatric disorder but mental health issues in future due to her current situation cannot be ruled out. 3.

The patient has been examined and found to be medically fit. She is at the moment not suffering from any medical ailment which poses imminent danger to her life. 4.

Keeping in view the advanced stage of gestation and condition of fetus there is a high probability that if termination is performed, the fetus may be born live. The termination of pregnancy at such an advanced gestation carries more risks to the patient herself.

Hence in view of the above and petitioner's medical condition the Permanent Medical Board DOES NOT recommend termination of pregnancy at this stage. Hence pregnancy should be continued as per the natural course and recommends hospital admission of the victim and further evaluation and treatment. Samples for DNA profiling as and when she delivers to be handed over to the police following the protocols."

Perusal of the opinion No.5 would show that the Permanent Medical Board has not recommended termination of pregnancy at

 this stage and the pregnancy should be continued as per the natural course. The Board has also recommended hospital admission of the victim for further evaluation and treatment.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present writ petition with a liberty to take future course of action.

Petition stands dismissed as withdrawn.
