This is a petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for issuance of directions to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner has given a representation dated 14.08.2023 (Annexure P-2) to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib - respondent No.3. However, no action has been taken till date. Learned counsel would further contend that in the representation dated 14.08.2023 (Annexure P-2), it has specifically been stated that an application had been given on 06.08.2023 at Police Station Sadar Malout but SHO and the Lady Inspector did not take any action and pressurized her to compromise the matter. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Adhiraj Singh Thind, AAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the State-respondent Nos.1 to 4. Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Prabhjot Singh has stated that there was a statement of the petitioner recorded on 07.08.2023 wherein no allegations of rape had been made. He, however, states that the representation dated 14.08.2023 (Annexure P-2) would be looked into and dealt with in accordance with law.

In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the State, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.3 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib - to look into the representation dated 14.08.2023 (Annexure P-2) expeditiously and to take a necessary action, if so required, in accordance with law. 7.

Disposed off accordingly. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
