The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to implement the benefit of Secretariat Allowances/Pay and its arrears along with interest @ 12% per annum on the delayed payment.

Learned counsel for the petitioners would contend that in this regard a legal notice dated 23.11.2021 (Annexure P-8) has been served upon respondent No.2. However, no decision has been taken qua the same. Learned counsel for the petitionerswould further contend that, at this stage, he limits his prayer and would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2 to take a decision on the legal notice dated 23.11.2021 (Annexure P-8) in a time-bound manner.

In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 to take a decision on the legal notice dated 23.11.2021 (Annexure P-8) expeditiously, in accordance with law, and in any case within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Disposed off accordingly.
