This is a petition under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners in FIR No.003 dated 07.03.2020 under Sections 376 and 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 registered at Police Station Women SAS Nagar (Mohali), District SAS Nagar.

On 22.09.2023 the following order was passed : "Learned counsel for the petitioners would contend that the petitioners are the in-laws of the complainant and that they have no relationship with the complainant and their son for the last about nine years. The learned counsel would further contend that the son of the petitioners was earlier married and despite that
-2he wanted to solemnize his marriage with the complainant which the petitioners had objected to. However, since the complainant and son of the petitioners wanted to go ahead with the marriage, the petitioners had disowned their son in the year 2014. The learned counsel would further contend that the petitioners have been summoned under Section 319 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

Mr. Adhiraj Singh Thind, AAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State of Punjab. Mr. Akhil Ahuja, Advocate has put in appearance for the complainant and has filed his Vakalatnama.
Heard.
In the present case, the allegation against the petitioners is that they had not informed the complainant that their son was already married and of demand of dowry. Learned counsel for the petitioners has contended that the petitioners had disowned their son way back in the year 2014 and thereafter had no relations with him. To fortify his stand, the learned counsel has relied upon the publication in the newspaper dated 13.06.2014 (Annexure P-2). As per the averments made in the petition, the petitioners have been living separately and have no connection with their
-3son or the complainant.

Meanwhile, the petitioners are directed to surrender before the Trial Court/Addl. Sessions Judge (Duty) concerned on or before 23.10.2023, the date fixed before the Trial Court and on their doing so the Trial Court/ Addl. Sessions Judge (Duty) concerned shall release them on interim bail subject to its satisfaction."

Learned counsel for the petitioners would contend that pursuant to the said order the petitioners have surrendered before the Court concerned and have submitted their bail/surety bonds.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Sashvir Kumar, has stated that the petitioners have surrendered before the Trial Court concerned and have submitted their bail/surety bonds. 5.
In view of the above, the order dated 22.09.2023 is made absolute.

Disposed off accordingly. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
