The present petition has been filed for directions to the respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty viz-a-viz of their family members, from the respondents No.4 to 17. 2.

Notice of motion to the respondents No.1 to 3 only. 3.

Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 3 and waives service. 4.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had taken a piece of the land on lease for the year 2024-25 for a sum of ₹6,40,000/- as rent, from Gram Panchayat, as a successful bidder. According to the petitioners, the application of respondent for vacating interim stay granted to the petitioner was allowed on 16.07.2025. Criminal Writ Petition No. 8714 of 2025 injustice has been done to him by the private respondents as they are threatening to dispossess him from the land. Thereafter, the petitioner filed representations dated 17.06.2025 and 07.05.2025 (Annexures P6 and P7), respectively, before the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural). According to petitioner, no action has been taken as yet. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that a direction for disposing of the representations (Annexures P6 and P7) be given to the concerned authorities and the instant writ petition be disposed of. 5.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to pass a speaking order and decide the representations of the petitioner (Annexures P6 and P7), as per law, within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

It is, however, made clear that no finding with regard to merits of the allegations is being recorded vide instant order, and the police authorities shall be at liberty to take an independent decision with regard to contents of the representation.
