The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the order dated 13.06.2023 (Annexure P-25) passed by the Director Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, whereby the petitioner being the Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Village Chamaru, District Patiala was placed under suspension.

1.1 A further prayer has been made for setting aside the order dated 03.08.2023 (Annexure P-27) passed by the Financial Commissioner, Punjab whereby the appeal preferred by the petitioner against the order dated 13.06.2023 (Annexure P-25) was dismissed.

Learned State counsel submits that the present petition has become infructuous in view of the aforesaid order dated 15.04.2024, wherein it was held that the allegations leveled against the petitioner were not established and consequently the petitioner was reinstated. 4.

In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned State counsel, the instant Petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous. However, the petitioner shall be at liberty to seek revival of the same if any of his grievance still survives.
