CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAVI SHANKER JHA, CHIEF JUSTICE HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ARUN PALLI

Present:

Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Advocate, for the petitioner.

* * * * RAVI SHANKER JHA, C.J. (ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioner, who alleges that although the petitioner is a resident of Chandigarh, but has been denied admission to MD/MS courses for the academic session 2022 under the U.T. Chandigarh Pool, seeks withdrawal of the writ petition with liberty to file a representation before the respondent-authorities, specifically, the Admission Committee or the competent authority, as the case may be, regarding non-inclusion of the petitioner's name in the select list.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondentauthorities may be directed to consider and the decide his representation expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably, before undertaking the second round of counselling, if not already taken up. He further submits that an advance copy of the writ petition has already been served upon the respondents inspite of which nobody has entered appearance on their behalf. Looking to the urgency in the matter and the payer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the writ petition is disposed of as withdrawn in terms thereof with an observation that in case the petitioner files such a representation by tomorrow, the respondent-authorities concerned would consider and decide the same expeditiously in accordance with law.

Let a copy of the order be furnished to learned counsel for the petitioner under signatures of the Bench Secretary. (RAVI SHANKER JHA) CHIEF JUSTICE (ARUN PALLI) JUDGE 21.10.2022 Amodh Sharma Whether speaking/reasoned Yes/No Whether reportable Yes/No AMODH SHARMA 2022.10.
