AARADHNA SAWHNEY , J.(Oral) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of direction to respondent No.2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner, who apprehends threat to her life at the hands of the private respondents and to take action on the representation of the petitioner.

Petitioner has filed the present petition levelling allegations of partisan behaviour against respondent No.4- a Police Official who, she claims, is openly siding with respondents No.5 to 8. As per the case of the petitioner, she and respondents No.5 to 8 are all neighbours. Dispute arose between with regard to 12 Marlas of land situated in Village Indrawal. It has further been alleged that in the past as well respondents No.5 to 8 had interferred in the possession, but on account of timely help rendered by the Police Authority, these respondents were not successful. The present Investigating Officer (Respondent No.4) as per petitioner is pressurizing her to amicably resolve the dispute with respondents No.5 to 8. moved a written application dated 22.07.2025 (Annexure P-3) to the police authorities requesting them to look into the matter. 3.

By virtue of the present petition, petitioner has prayed to issue appropriate directions to respondents No.2 to 4 to decide the representation dated 22.05.2025 (Annexure P-3). 4.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Mohit Kapoor, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. 6.

In view of the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to official respondents to decide the representation dated 22.05.2025 (Annexure P-3), within a period of 40 days from today, in accordance with law, and ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents.
