RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Petitioner has approached this Court praying for issuance of direction to respondent No.1, i.e. Financial Commissioner Department of Rural Development to decide the stay application of the petitioner filed alongwith the statutory appeal. It is further prayed to stay the impugned order dated 26.07.2023, Annexure P-1, whereby the petitioner has been placed under suspension for the second time on the similar charges of registration of old FIRs, from the post of Sarpanch, during pendency of the present writ petition.

It has been submitted by counsel for the petitioner that appeal has been filed by the petitioner alongwith the stay application, however, the same has not been decided as yet.

Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Ms.Akshita Chauhan, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State and submits, on instructions, that appeal alongwith the

In view of the statement made by learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1, i.e. Financial Commissioner, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Punjab, to take up and hear the stay application on the date fixed, i.e. today, and if the same is not taken up today then hear the stay application filed by the petitioner on the next date fixed for hearing and decide the same expeditiously in accordance with law.
