The present petition has been filed inter alia seeking directions to respondent No. 1 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner who apprehend danger from respondents No. 3 to 5. It is also alleged that respondent No. 2 who is a police official is acting and abusing the process of law at the behest of respondents No. 3 to 5. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that petitioner No. 1 was married to respondent No. 3 and since they could not have a biological child, so they adopted the daughter of elder brother of respondent No. 3 way back in the year 2009. An affidavit to the said effect was executed by respondent No. 4 on 13.12.2017 in which respondent No. 4 clearly admitted that respondent No. 3 has adopted his daughter on 22.05.2009. The school record appended with the petition also

-2demonstrates that the mother's name and the father's name was of petitioner No. 1 and respondent No. 3. It is submitted that now on account of certain matrimonial discord between petitioner No. 1 and respondent No. 3, the respondent No. 4 at the behest of respondent No. 3 is pressurizing the petitioners to be separated.

Learned State counsel at the outset has submitted that the allegations against respondent No. 2 are false and fabricated and he is only performing his duty. Merely because an Officer is trying to resolve the matter between the parties which is more in the shape of a civil dispute cannot be an allegation that he is siding with a particular party. 4.

Learned State counsel has also pointed out that the counseling between the parties is under way and is fixed for today itself and there is no pressure being built upon the petitioners to compromise the matter. 5.

Be that as it may, let notice of motion be issued to the official respondents.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Amandeep Singh Samra, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court accepts notice on behalf of respondents-State.

Considering the nature of the order being passed, there is no necessity to serve the private respondents or to seek a reply from any one of the respondents.

In light of above, respondents No. 1 and 2 shall ensure that life and liberty of the petitioners is duly protected and in case of any compromise, it should be specifically recorded that the same is without any pressure or coercion.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to approach the Court, in case, any cogent cause of action survives.
