The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 31.05.2024 passed by this Court in CWP-13742-2024, whereby direction was issued to respondent No.2-Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, to take into consideration the recommendations made in the inquiry report dated 30.11.2023 and to take further action expeditiously in accordance with law.

In compliance of the order dated 31.05.2024 passed by this Court in CWP-13742-2024, compliance report by way of affidavit dated 25.09.2024 of Raji P. Shrivastava, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Social Security and Development of Women and Children, Punjab,

-2Chandigarh, along with Annexures R-1 and R-2, has been filed on behalf of respondent No.1 and another affidavit dated 06.11.2025 of Kanwaljit Singh, District Social Security Officer, Ferozepur, has been filed on behalf of respondent No.4 in the Registry. The same are taken on record. The relevant portion of the compliance report dated 06.11.2025 is reproduced as under:- "3.

That in compliance with the Order dated 21.08.2025 passed by this Hon'ble Court, it is most respectfully submitted that the deponent has been posted as District Social Security Officer, Ferozepur, District Ferozepur on 18.08.2025. Accordingly, the deponent called for the record of the case and has thoroughly examined the same and as per record, it has been found that on the basis of report dated 30.11.2023 (already annexed with the petition as Annexure P-3) submitted by the Committee consisting of District Development and Panchayat Officer, Ferozepur, District Social Security Officer, Ferozepur and Sub Divisional Magistrate Ferozepur, which was constituted as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, at present respondent No.6 Dimple Rani is not getting any pension.

That so far as the fact that respondent No.6 Dimple Rani is getting old age pension as per her bank statement as pointed out in the above said Order dated 21.08.2025 passed by this Hon'ble Court is concerned, it is respectfully submitted that as per the bank statement of respondent No.6 Dimple Rani itself, the pension of respondent no.6 Dimple Rani was stopped after 09.06.2023 i.e. much prior to the above said reply/ compliance report submitted by the then District Social Security Officer, Ferozepur in the present petition before this Hon'ble Court, which means that on the day of submitting compliance report before this Hon'ble Court, respondent No.6 Dimple Rani was not getting old age pension. It is pertinent to mention here that further as per record, recovery of the amount of old age pension wrongly disbursed to the beneficiaries is being refunded from them and out of total amount of Rs.41,000/-, a sum of Rs.8100/- has been returned by respondent No.6

-3Dimple Rani and the remaining amount of Rs.32,900/- shall also be recovered from her."

A perusal of the compliance reports shows that order dated 31.05.2024 passed by this Court in CWP-13742-2024 has been complied with.

In view of the above, since order dated 31.05.2024 passed by this Court in CWP-13742-2024, has already been complied with, therefore, the present contempt is purged and rule stands discharged. 5.
