Prayer in this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. is for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.61, dated 26.07.2023, registered at Police Station Chamkaur Sahib, District Roopnagar, under Sections 406 and 420 IPC. 2.

As per allegations, the petitioner alongwith two co-accused duped/cheated the complainant on the pretext of providing job in Punjab Police to the complainant's daughter and duped Rs.13,50,000/-. 3.

As per the status report filed by the respondent-State, during the course of investigation, complainant had submitted an audio recording pertaining to the conversation with the accused, in which accused had confessed that he had taken money so as to provide the Government Job. The same is annexed in the shape of pen drive alongwith the status report. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it was a simple money dispute and only a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- was received in the account of the petitioner.

After hearing both the sides, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner having regard to the nature of allegations levelled against him.
