Aggrieved by order dated 17.10.2022 passed by Superintendent of Jail, District Jail, Karnal, declining extension of parole, the petitioner has approached this Court under Section 226/227 of the Constitution of India. State counsel has strenuously opposed the present petition on the ground that this Court has limited jurisdiction in the matter of parole, only when it relates to arbitrariness.

Faced with this situation, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be contented and satisfied if he is permitted to file a fresh representation and a direction is issued to the concerned authority to decide the same immediately. Prayer is innocuous. The present petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned authority to decide the representation, if any filed, within seven working days from the date of its filing.
