The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to issue his passport.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that the petitioner has filed an application seeking passport and respondents are not processing the same on account of pending FIRs. There are 04 FIRs against the petitioner. The police has already filed cancellation report in two FIRs. The trial Court has also accepted cancellation report. This Court has stayed proceedings in 3rd FIR and quashing petition on the basis of compromise is pending before this Court with respect to 4th FIR. Learned State counsel confirms the aforestated factual position and submits that statements of the parties with respect to compromise quashing have already been recorded on 25.08.2023. 4.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that application of the petitioner has already been closed and if he files a fresh application, it would be disposed of within six weeks from the date of filing. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
