(Oral) The present appeal has been filed by the appellant, Haragamdeep Singh, for seeking enhancement of compensation, awarded by learned Tribunal, on account of injuries sustained by him, in a motor vehicular accident, which took place on 23.11.2016. However, report has been received from the Mediation and Conciliation Centre. As per the same, settlement/agreement has reached between the parties on 26.02.2026.

Both the counsel also submit that amicable settlement has reached between the parties.

As per the terms, which are reflected in paragarph No.7 of the settlement, the Oriental Insurance Company, shall pay a sum of Rs.80,000/-, SONU 2026.02.27 16:21 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

FAO-1922-2023 (O&M) over and above the amount already awarded by learned Tribunal and the requisite amount shall be payable by virtue of cheque in the name of appellant, Haragamdeep Singh, to him or to his counsel. The same is full and final settlement reached between the parties. Even though, in Clause B of paragraph No.7, the name of the Insurance Company, has been mentioned as United India Insurance Company, but however, the Insurance Company in the present case is Oriental Insurance Company Limited. In view of the settlement, so reached, between the parties, the present appeal stands allowed and the Oriental Insurance Company Limited, is hereby directed to make the payment of Rs.80,000/-, in the form of cheque in the name of appellant, Haragamdeep Singh, within a period of two months from today onwards.

In the eventuality of any default on the part of Insurance Company, to pay the requisite amount, within the given time, the same shall be liable to pay penal interest @ 8% per annum, till realization.
