This petition is filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of respondent Nos.5 to 10, who are threatening and harassing the petitioner continuously without any reason and further direction be issued to respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to direct respondent No.4 to not to harass and pressurize the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the respondent Nos.5 to 10 has filed written statement on behalf of respondent Nos.5 to 10, which is taken on record.

In compliance of order dated 05.08.2025, learned State counsel has filed status report/reply by way of affidavit of Rajan Sharma, PPS, Superintendent of Police, Sub Division-Ahmedgarh, District Malerkotla on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 4, which is taken on record and according to which, there is dispute regarding turns of irrigation water between the parties. Learned State counsel submits that there is apprehension of violence and breach of peace and thus, proceedings under Sections 126, 169 of BNSS have been initiated against both the parties i.e. the petitioner and private respondents on 26.07.2025. He further submits that in view of the status report no further action is required in the present petition.

In view of the above, it is evident that no credible threat perception exists against the petitioner's safety. In the absence of any such material or proof, the Court finds no grounds to grant the relief sought by the petitioner.
