ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Counsel for the petitioner has argued that as per the allegations in the FIR, the petitioner who was a Conductor on the truck along with the co-accused Ranjit Singh, who was the owner and driver of the truck, were apprehended and recovery of 76 Kgs of Poppy Straw and 12000 tablets of TRAMADOL, were effected. Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that since the petitioner is in custody for a last about 02 years and out of 16 PWs, only 08 PWs have been examined so far, a direction be issued to the trial Court to conclude the trial expeditiously. Counsel for the State, on instructions from the Investigating Officer, has not disputed the factual position. In view of the above, this petition is disposed of and the trial Court is directed to conclude the trial expeditiously preferably within a period of 04 months from today.
