Petitioners allege that both of them are major and belong to Muslim religion and they performed Nikah on 07.09.2024 against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 8 who are related to both the petitioners. This is their first marriage.

Counsel for the petitioners submits that aforesaid private respondents No.4 to 8 have threatened to cause harm to both the petitioners and in this regard, representation dated 09.09.2024 (Annexure P-7) was given to respondent No.2 i.e Commissioner of Police, Panchkula but till date no action has been taken by the concerned authority in this regard.

In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 i.e Commissioner of Police, Panchkula to consider representation dated 09.09.2024 (Annexure P-7) and to take action if so warranted in accordance with law.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
