This is a petition that has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant seniority as per merit in the batch, pay fixation, arrears of salary, allowances and notional consequential benefits along with interest @ 15% per annum to the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has approached the department many times and even sent a legal notice dated 26.06.2024 (Annexure P5), but no action has been taken so far. 2.

I have heard counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner as well as the learned State counsel and perused the record. 5.

Without commenting on merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the legal notice dated 26.06.2024 (Annexure P-5) moved by the petitioner and decide the same in accordance with law, by passing a speaking order preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order, and convey the decision to the petitioner.
