**** (Through V.C.) RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) Petitioner has preferred this writ petition for issuance of an appropriate direction to the respondents to pay cash award and other amounts as were declared for the 6th World Kabaddi Cup, 2016 (Punjab), organized by the respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents have been organizing the World Cup KabaddiPunjab since 2011 for both men and women teams. Price money for the winning teams was decided in the following terms:- 1st position men's team - Rs.2 crores 1st position women's team - Rs.1 crore 2nd position men's team - Rs.1 crore

-22nd position men's team - Rs.51 lacs 3rd position men's team - Rs.51 lacs 3rd position women's team - Rs.25 lacs The team of the petitioner got third position in men's category and the amount has not been paid so far. The stand taken by the respondents in similar situated petitions is that the matter is still under consideration. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petition may be disposed of in the light of order dated 30.09.2021 passed in two writ petitions i.e. CWP No.15214 of 2021 and CWP No.15413 of 2021 filed by similarly situated petitions.

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. T.P.S. Chawla, D.A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of State of Punjab. In view of nature of order which this Court proposes to pass, there is no necessity of calling upon any response from the respondents as no order prejudicial to the interest of any party is being passed.

In view of order dated 30.09.2021 passed in aforesaid writ petitions, this petition is also disposed of without meaning anything on the merits of the case. Legal notice dated 06.10.2021 filed by the petitioner is ordered to be decided by respondent No.3 in accordance with law within a period of 03

-3months.

If the petitioner is found entitled for the amount in question, the same be released to the petitioner within six weeks thereafter.

Nothing observed hereinabove shall be construed to be an expression on the merits of the case.
