   This petition has been filed under the provisions of Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ, direction or order in the nature of mandamus, directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, as also for a direction be issued to respondents No.4 to 7 not to interfere in the personal life and liberty of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner being in a live-in-relationship with one Ravinder Singh (husband of respondent No.4), she is seeking such protection at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7.

This petition is consequently disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 (the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala), to hear the petitioner and to ensure that her life and liberty is duly protected, with Section 497 of the IPC having been struck down by the Supreme Court RITTU 2022.01.21 12:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
