******* KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Counsel for the petitioners submits that the present petition has been filed by run-away couple who performed marriage against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 6, who are extending threats to cause harm to the petitioners and in this regard, representation dated 11.09.2024 (Annexure P-5) is already submitted by the petitioners to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala. 2.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Jasjeet Singh Dhaliwal, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and on instructions from ASI Sikandar Pal submits that petitioners as well as parents of petitioner No.1 got recorded their statements before the police to the effect that now there is no dispute between the parties and that petitioners are having no apprehension of threat from the side of private respondents. Faced with this situation, counsel for the petitioners made statement that the present petition be disposed of, in light of the aforesaid statement made by the State counsel.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
