Petitioner No.1 has appeared in person but her mother has not appeared today in the Court.

Counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 a female aged about 20 years has performed her first marriage with petitioner No.2 a divorcee aged about 33 years against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 10 and copy of the decree of divorce whereby first marriage of petitioner No.2 stands dissolved is Annexure P-6. Counsel for the petitioners further submits that petitioners are apprehending threats from the side of respondents No.4 to 10 and in this regard, representation dated 09.09.2024 (Annexure P-5) was given to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur but till date no action has been taken by the concerned authorities in this regard.

Learned State counsel submits that in case, any such representation is pending, the same will be looked into and decided by the competent authority in accordance with law, at the earliest. 4.

Counsel appearing on behalf of respondents No.5 to 8 submits that the private respondents have never given any threat to cause harm to the petitioners and the present petition be disposed of accordingly.

In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur to consider representation dated 09.09.2024 (Annexure P-5) and to take action if so warranted in accordance with law. 6.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
