The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue his passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 30.08.2012 which was valid upto 29.08.2022. The petitioner applied for re-issuance of passport vide application dated 23.05.2023. Two FIRs came to be registered against the petitioner. The petitioner stands acquitted in FIR No. 21 dated 25.02.2017, under Sections 341, 323, 506, 34 and 201 of IPC at Police Station, Payal, District Ludhiana. In FIR No. 112 dated 28.07.2020, under Section 302, 34, 120-B of IPC, registered at Police Station, Payal, District PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.10.03 16:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

2. No other case is pending against the petitioner. 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that case of the petitioner is squarely covered by judgment of this Court in Mohan Lal @ Mohna vs. Union of India and others 2023 SCC Online P&H 1391. 4.
Learned State counsel, who on advance notice is present in Court, does not dispute the aforesaid factual position. 5.
Learned counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, asserts that the passport authority would pass an appropriate order after considering the afore-stated judgment within six weeks.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
