In the present protection petition, on 02.11.2022, following order was passed by this Court:- "

Members of the Bar are abstaining from work today.

Prayer in the instant petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents No. 2 and 3, to provide protection of lives and liberty to the petitioners, who have married against the wishes of private respondents No. 4 to 7.

Raj Kumari and Meharban Salmani, who state themselves to be petitioner No. 1 and petitioner No. 2, respectively, are present in the Court.

Petitioner No. 1 is Hindu by religion and petitioner No. 2 is Mohammedan by religion. Petitioner No. 1 states that she is aged about 20 years and has studied upto 10+2 and petitioner No. 2 states that he is aged about 21 years and has studied upto 7th standard.

Petitioner No. 2-Meharban Salmani, further states that he has done Nikah on 22.10.2022, with petitioner No. 1-Raj Kumari, who is aged about 20 years, after PRASHANT KAPOOR 2022.12.14 09:28 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

210 CRWP-10360-2022 changing the religion from Hindu to Muslim and against the wishes of her family members, arrayed as respondents No. 4 to 7. It is submitted by them that they are feeling apprehensive of breach of their lives & liberty and are running from pillar to post. Therefore, they are seeking protection in that regard and have approached this Court by way of filing the instant petition. They have also submitted a representation dated 26.10.2022 through registered post dated 27.10.2022 (Annexure P-4) to respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T., Chandigarh, wherein, they have expressed their apprehension.

Notice of motion for 13.12.2022.

Meanwhile, respondent No. 2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T., Chandigarh, is hereby directed to look into the representation dated 26.10.2022 (Annexure P-4) and in case any truth is found in regard to the apprehension of lives and liberty of the petitioners, appropriate steps in accordance with law would be taken. Respondent No. 2 would also ensure that conversion of the religion of petitioner No. 1-Raj Kumari from Hindu to Muslim, is with her free will and wish.

Reply/status report be filed on or before the next date of hearing i.e. 13.12.2022."

Today, at the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw the present petition. Dismissed as withdrawn.
