PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) Present writ petition was filed seeking directions to the official respondent No.2 to protecting life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.3 to 5 who were also police officials. 2.

Short reply by way of affidavit of Harminder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anti-Gangster Task Force, Intelligence Wing, Amritsar has been filed on behalf of the respondents today in Court, which is taken on record. Relevant paras thereof read as under : "3.

That both the petitioners are not wanted in any case by the investigation agency as on date. Therefore, no raids have been conducted by the deponent and team Anti-Gangster Tast Force (AGTF), Amritsar to arrest the petitioners. Important to add here that neither any threats, nor any demands have been made by any official to the petitioners ever.

That it is further specified that no official namely ASI Sukhdev Singh i.e. Respondent no.6 is posted in the office of Anti-Gangster Task Force, Amritsar."

In view of above stand taken by the State, this Court does not find any reason to keep the present petition pending as nothing survives for adjudication at the hands of this Court.
