G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The prayer in the present writ petition is for the appointment of the Statutory Arbitrator since the land had been acquired under the National Highways Act, 1956 falling in village Gurdaspur for the development of the Kartarpur Corridor of NH-354.

Reply on behalf of respondent no. 2 has been filed. Alongwith the reply, the notification dated 29.03.2007 (Annexure R-1) has been appended whereby, the Divisional Commissioner, Jalandhar Division has been given the jurisdiction to exercise powers of the Arbitrator for three districts i.e. Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Gurdaspur. In such circumstances, no further directions are necessary as the statutory Arbitrator is already in place for district Gurdaspur. Faced with this situation, counsel does not press the present petition and prays for withdrawal of the same. Ordered accordingly.
