Mr. Sandeep Verma, Advocate for the petitioner.  **** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Certiorari for quashing the order dated 14.05.2025 (Annexure P-25) whereby the petitioner being Sarpanch of village Jhanjheri has been suspended by respondent No.2-Directorate Department Rural Development and Panchayat. 2.

During the course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that against the order dated 14.05.2025 (Annexure P-25) petitioner has already filed an appeal, which is pending consideration before learned Financial Commissioner, however, till date no hearing has taken place. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if time bound directions are issued for decision of the stay application filed by the petitioner along with the statutory appeal.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Reader, Financial Commissioner (Appeal), Punjab submits that the stay application along with statutory appeal filed by the petitioner would be decided within a period of four weeks from today and the main appeal filed by the petitioner would be decided within three months upon completion of service of the respondent.

Keeping in view the aforesaid stand taken by learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of accordingly. 6.
