Petitioners seek protection of their life and liberty as they apprehend danger at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 7 and other relatives because they have solemnised marriage on 27.12.2021 against the wishes of said respondents.
Learned counsel for the petitioners identifies the petitioners on the basis of documents attached. It is contended that the petitioners are major, their dates of birth being 22.02.1995 and 01.01.1999, respectively. Aadhar cards of both the petitioners are appended with the petition as Annexures P1 and P2, respectively, though only year of birth has been mentioned in Aadhar cards of the petitioners. The photographs of the marriage and marriage certificate are on record as Annexures P-3 and P4. It is submitted that there is no impediment to the marriage of the petitioners. Petitioners, it is stated, submitted representation dated 29.12.2021 (Annexure P5) to respondent No.2 i.e., the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, for redressal of their grievance but no action has been taken thereon.

Without commenting upon the age of the petitioners or validity of their marriage or validity and genuineness of the certificates/documents appended with the petition, respondent No.2 - Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, is directed to look into representation dated 29.12.2021 submitted by the petitioners and take appropriate action if any/as may be required, keeping in view the threat perception to the petitioners. Petition is disposed of accordingly.
