**** KIRTI SINGH , J. (Oral) This petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India has been filed seeking direction to the official respondent No.2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent No.3 (arrayed in the petition) and take action on his representation dated 14.09.2024 (Annexure P-5).

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has filed a representation dated 14.09.2024 before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala (Annexure P-5) raising his grievances as mentioned in the present petition but the same has not yet been considered and no action has been taken thereon. He further submitted that at this stage, the petitioner would be satisfied if appropriate directions are issued to respondent No.-2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala, to decide the aforesaid representation filed by the petitioner and take necessary action thereon.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. Gurpartap Singh Bhullar, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent(s)-State and submits that the needful will be done in due course. Let a complete set of the paper book be supplied to him during the course of the day. 5.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner, without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the aforesaid representation dated 14.09.2024 (Annexure P-5) of the petitioner expeditiously, by passing a speaking order in accordance with law. 6.

Needless to say, if any threat is found to the petitioner, the official respondents would provide him adequate security in order to protect his life and liberty.
