**** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) This is a petition under Section 24 of the Code of Civil Procedure for transfer of proceedings initiated by the respondent-husband under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 (for short 'the Act') from Phool, District Bathinda to Kaithal.

Respondent remains unrepresented despite service. It is urged before the court that certain proceedings are already pending at Kaithal. Besides, applicant has a minor child to look after and distance between the two places is about 160 Kms. Applicant being a woman may not be able to effectively defend the proceedings at Phool, District Bathinda.

Under the circumstances, the present petition is allowed. It is directed that proceedings under Section 9 of the Act at Phool, District Bathinda, be transferred to a court of co-ordinate jurisdiction at Kaithal.
