This is a petition under section 24 of the Code of Civil Procedure for transfer of petition initiated by respondent-husband under section 9 of the Act from the court at Malout to Chandigarh. It is urged before the court that petitioner is pursuing PH.D from Panjab University and is dependent on her parents. Besides, distance between the two places is more than 260 kms. Due to financial constraints, she has not been able to defend the case at Malout. Keeping in view facts and circumstances of the case, petition is disposed of with the direction that proceedings pending at Malout under section 9 of the Act be transferred to a court of coordinate jurisdiction at Chandigarh.
