(Oral) This is a petition under Section 24 of the Code of Civil Procedure for transfer of proceedings initiated by the respondent-husband under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 (for short 'the Act') from Ratia, District Fatehabad to Faridkot.

Respondent remains unrepresented despite service. It is urged before the court that petitioner has a minor child to look after. Besides, distance between the two places is about 160 Kms. Petitioner being a woman may not be able to effectively defend the proceedings in district Fatehabad.

Under the circumstances, the present petition is allowed. It is directed that proceedings under Section 9 of the Act at Ratia, District Fatehabad be transferred to a court of co-ordinate jurisdiction at Faridkot.
