The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for directing respondents No. 1 to 3 to recover the detenue namely Praneet Kaur, who has been illegally detained by respondents No. 4 to 6.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has very fairly submitted that after filing of the present petition, he has verified and has come to know that respondent No. 4 and the daughter of the petitioner (alleged detenue) had already approached this Court by filing CRWP-6830-2023 and sought protection. Although, the said petition was dismissed as not pressed but the fact of the matter remains that the alleged detenue has married to respondent No. 4 against the wishes of their parents. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Siddharth Attri, AAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3/State.

Respondent No. 4 along with the detenue are directed to present themselves before respondent No. 3-SHO Police Station Sadar Barnala, District Barnala on 17.10.2023 where the petitioner can meet them, as his only concern is to know the well being of his daughter. 6.

With the abovesaid direction, the present petition stands disposed of.
