The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect their life and liberty from the respondents No.4 and 5.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed a representation dated 06.08.2025 (Annexure P5) before the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. The learned counsel prays for seeking directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the above mentioned representation within a stipulated time.

Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 3. 4.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a direction for DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2025.08.12 12:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document disposing of the representation (Annexure P5) be given to respondent No.2
Criminal Writ Petition No. 8630 of 2025 and the instant writ petition be disposed of. 5.
Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to decide the representation (Annexure P5) within a period of 15 days from today, by passing a speaking order.

It is further directed that the petitioners will be provided adequate safety and security to their life and liberty, if required. It is, however, clarified that any observation is not being made by this Court with regard to threat perception to the petitioners and the police authorities of District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar shall be at liberty to make assessment with regard to threat perception to the petitioners and take a decision with regard to providing adequate security to them.
