Petitioners seek transfer of proceedings in MACT case no. MACP/0000088/2015 titled as Sunita Rani & anr. vs. Gurpreet Singh & anr. filed under section 166 readwith section 140 of the Act from Faridkot to Ferozepur.

It appears that an accident took place on 09.05.2015 between two cars. It was a head on collusion. Driver of both the vehicles died. Some of the claimants have filed a claim petition at Faridkot and others at Ferozepur. As the proceedings arise from the same accident, it has been urged before the court that it shall be in the interest of justice if both the cases are decided together by the court below. Learned counsel appearing for the insurance company submits that he has no objection to the prayer made before this court. Under the circumstances, plea of the petitioners is accepted and petition is allowed.
